Election Day

Everything you need to know about voting on Election Day during the Gainesville District Supervisor Special Election 2025.

If you live in the Gainesville Magisterial District of Prince William County, Virginia, you will notice a special election on the back of your ballot, this Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

The 2025 Gainesville District Supervisor special election will determine who will serve out the remainder of the late, Honorable Supervisor Bob Weir’s term, through the end of 2027.

Please vote for Patrick Harders to fill this critical seat on the Board of County Supervisors. You can vote on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM at your normal voting precinct.

Absentee Ballot for the Gainesville District Special Election?

If you have received an absentee ballot, be sure to return your ballot to the drop box on Election Day or send in your ballot via mail ASAP, but no later than Tuesday, Nov. 4. It is highly recommended that you sign up for BallotTrax online, to track the status of your ballot after it is received by the Office of Elections.

Do you live in the Gainesville District?

Unsure if you live in the Gainesville Magisterial District? You are not alone. I frequently meet people who aren’t familiar with the districting for our county.

Some people who have a Gainesville address actually live in the Brentsville Magisterial District versus the Gainesville Magisterial District. Depending on which part of Manassas you live in, you could be in the City of Manassas (outside the county), or a county resident in the Gainesville District, Brentsville District, Coles District or Occoquan District. Most Haymarket residents reside in the Gainesville District, but part of Haymarket is located in the Brentsville District. Redistricting over the years has also confused residents.

Go to the Virginia Dept. of Elections Citizen Portal to check your voter registration status and find your voting precinct. Precinct numbers 401 through 414 are located in the Gainesville District.

Please spread the word about Patrick’s campaign and this critical special election for Board of County Supervisors!
